March 16, 2020TxCDBG 2020 Applications Available
The Texas Department of Agriculture is pleased to announce the release of several grant applications for Program Year 2020. The fund category, purpose, grant amount and application due date are all listed below.
- Downtown Revitalization / Main Street Program
- Purpose: Address the conditions that contribute to the deterioration in an area designated as slum or blighted in the community’s downtown or main street area.
- Maximum grant amount: $500,000
- Application Due Date: August 4, 2020
- Fire, Ambulance, and Service Truck (FAST) Fund
- Purpose: Provide eligible vehicles for emergency response for low- to moderate-income areas
- Maximum grant amount: $500,000
- Application Due Date: July 15, 2020
- Planning & Capacity Building Fund
- Purpose: Assist planning efforts in low- to moderate-income communities
- Maximum grant amount: $75,000
- Application Due Date: July 15, 2020
- Colonia Fund – Construction (Secondary Round)
- Purpose: Provide basic infrastructure and housing improvements in colonia areas Note: This application is offered to complete the 2019-2020 funding cycle
- Maximum grant amount: $1,000,000
- Application Due Date: June 2, 2020
- Texas Capital Fund – Real Estate & Infrastructure Program (Final Round)
- Purpose: Provide infrastructure and building improvements to support job creation. Note: This is the final round of TCF-RE/I funding offered before the economic development programs are redesigned. This final round is offered to allow communities that began working on TCF applications prior to the program’s suspension to complete and submit those applications.
- Maximum grant amount: $1,000,000
- Application Due Date: April 15, 2020
A webinar will be conducted to provide technical assistance to potential applicants for all five application cycles – additional webinar dates may be added and posted to TDA’s website. In addition, a webinar session will provide an overview of the Program Year 2020 Action Plan and Method of Distribution for CDBG funding, including the application cycles listed above.
