Broadband Development Office Invites Community Members to Public Meeting

SHERMAN, JULY 3 – The Texas Broadband Development Office (BDO) wants to hear from you! Communities around the state are meeting to discuss internet connectivity in their region. High-speed internet connectivity means increased access to the online world. With internet connection, people can access a telehealth appointment, work from home or video chat with friends and family far away. Having access to affordable, reliable high-speed internet and having the skills to use it can increase quality of life and opportunity for Texans.

The BDO and the Metroplex regional working group are hosting a community conversation about the needs and priorities of our community for the billions of dollars the state is receiving to bring internet connectivity to all residents.

Join us on July 10th from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at Texoma Council of Governments at 1117 Gallagher Drive, Sherman, TX 75090.

Your voice matters! Having widespread input will help the BDO develop a comprehensive state plan.

Register here to join the conversation.

The Texoma Council of Governments is a voluntary association of the local governments in Cooke, Fannin, and Grayson counties. Established in 1968, Texoma Council of Governments promotes economy and efficiency in the coordinated planning and development of the tri-county region through its community and economic development activities. Both directly and through contractors, the Council provides housing, utility assistance, and weatherization services for low-income citizens in the region and assists the elderly through a variety of Area Agency on Aging programs. The Council also facilitates the delivery of grant funding for homeland security and criminal justice.
