About the Presenter
Julie Fort’s practice focuses on providing a range of legal services to cities and economic development corporations, both large and small. Julie has over 27 years of experience. She has represented municipalities, economic, community and industrial development corporations, community colleges, housing authorities, counties and other governmental entities on a wide range of matters, such as: economic incentives, open meetings and public information, planning, zoning and land use, negotiations with special districts, city charter adoption and amendment, development agreements, annexation, easement and right-of-way acquisition, boundary disputes, bidding, purchasing, development and sale/lease of park land and other public property, employment issues, conflicts of interest, nepotism, right-of-way management and utility issues, eminent domain, transitioning from general law to home rules status, municipal court prosecution, constitutional issues, elections, code enforcement, charter and ordinance drafting and attendance at posted meetings.
